Matthew 6:34
“Therefore do not be anxious(merimnao) about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
GREEK WORD Merimnao: to be troubled with cares , to seek to promote one’s interests
Many times when I am stressed out in my own life, I find that I am looking into an issue to promote my own interests! What will I do about this or what will I do about that. We say we want God’s will, but many times we just say that to Him hoping His will is our will! If we stopped to really ask God, “does this line up with what You have for me?” we would be better off. Many times we have our own agenda, and think we know whats right for us, but we are no good at playing God, we’re not that smart! No one is… except GOD! We get into trouble when we weight the outcomes in our heads, consider Lot and Abraham. When their possessions were to great they had quarreling between their herdsmen(Genesis 13) When Abram(now Abraham) proposed they split company, Lot looked intently and saw the land that was full of good soil, and he camped his tent outside of the most wicked city ever! Soon after he was living in the city tormenting his righteous soul(2 Pet 2:7) and eventually God destroyed the city he lived in, killed his wife, and his own daughters got him so drunk they slept with him to obtain children!!!!(Gen 19) When Lot looked out for his own good before asking God what He wanted him to do, all he got was a disaster! That’s what we get friends, sure we don’t get it as bad as Lot, but a little out of Gods will and allot out of Gods will is still OUT OF GODS WILL!!!
friends, consult with the Lord, for He knows what is best for you.
Eph 3:20-21 20
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
